Self Portrait 2011
Our former classmate, Christer “Chris” Englund, is a talented self-taught watercolor portrait artist and he has just published a new blog to showcase his beautiful paintings at http://christersart.blogspot.com/ He will post new paintings as he finishes them, so be sure to check his blog regularly.
Chris currently paints from photographs that he has taken, but he is also considering accepting commission work based upon photos provided by others. He also plans to offer high-quality prints of his original artwork. Chris will let you know pricing options and availability as soon as the prints are ready.

Chris ~ Strangely reminiscent of a Van Gough, self portrait. You’re easily recognizable from this work, even after 50 years. I, and several others asked about you at the 50 year reunion. Just one question, though; How did you get yourself to sit still long enough to paint yourself? Great work! Walt Grzymski
Hi Walt! The nice thing about a self portrait is that you can leave off a lot of wrinkles and call it artistic license. Do you think it would help my art if I cut off an ear?
What Beautiful and God gifted talent Chris. I am looking forward to enjoying all your future water color portraits. I love them! So serene.
Thank you for sharing these with us.
Cookie Lujan
Hi Cookie! You made my day. What a nice thing to say. Thank you.
Chris, what a joy to see your talent. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Hi Sandy, Thank you for your kind words. This is just a hobby but I will post additional paintings as I complete them.
Chris, your work is outstanding and so lifelike – beautiful!!!
Pamela, Thank you for your comments. Since I am truly just a beginner I hope I will continue to improve. I really enjoy painting.
I have often thought of you, Chris…I would be pleased to be your first customer!!! Lee Larson
